Language Patterns: What You Don’t Know
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone who acted “as if” they already knew your opinion on a subject matter? Do you find being in a conversation with someone who constantly tells you what you know and how you feel annoying? Most of us would probably say, “Heck ya, people like that are annoying.” Language patterns can be tricky and, if not used correctly, can be completely off-putting to potential clients.
Would you be surprised to learn that a few key phrases you may be using are putting YOU in this category of “being annoying?” This week’s sales tip teaches you what you could be saying that might be a turn off to your clients and how to go about fixing your language patterns.
Check out this week’s video tip to learn phrases that turn people off and what to say instead.
Sales Tip- Language Patterns:
Recently, I had one of these conversations. What’s interesting is the person started out the conversation telling me how advanced her skills were in selling. Yet, over and over again, she kept saying these phrases. It was so distracting I had a hard time staying engaged in the topic we were discussing. After about the sixth time of her using one of these phrases, I ended the conversation. I had completely lost interest.
Pay close attention this week to the phrases you use when talking with prospects/clients. Notice what happens to the rapport when you ask people their opinion vs. tell it to them.
Wishing you continued success this week.
